Ko-wei Chen is a pianist, arranger, composer and a film composer who was born in Taiwan. She is trained in classical music since she was 4 years old. Ko-wei has a Bachelor of Music performance in Piano and Composition from Tainan University of Technology in Taiwan, where she studied with pianist Chi-shing Chen and composer Jia-jeng Chiang.
She has received a Masters degree in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University, where she was a winner of the 2017 NYU Film Scoring Competition. At NYU, she studied with film composers Irwin Fisch and Michael Patterson.
Ko-wei has written music for short films, documentaries, music videos, and concert muisc. With a background in classical, and popular music, her compositions range from classical chamber music to pop songs, jazz and electric music.
